Asus has officially introduced the new ROG Xbox Ally X20, a special edition handheld gaming device that brings several major upgrades aimed at improving the portable gaming experience.
The announcement was made during Computex 2026 as part of the company’s celebration of 20 years of its Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand. The device is expected to attract serious gamers looking for premium performance in a handheld format.
One of the biggest highlights of the ROG Xbox Ally X20 is its new 7.4-inch OLED display. The upgraded screen offers Full HD resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, improved brightness, and richer colors compared to the LCD panel used in the previous generation.
The larger display is designed to deliver a more immersive gaming experience while maintaining portability.
Asus has also addressed one of the most common concerns among handheld gamers by introducing new TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) joysticks.
These advanced analog sticks are designed to reduce the risk of stick drift while offering greater precision and durability during long gaming sessions.
The company has additionally refined the buttons, haptic feedback system, and directional pad to provide improved control and responsiveness.
Under the hood, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 retains the powerful AMD Z2 Extreme processor, paired with 24GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB SSD.
While raw performance remains similar to the previous model, Asus is focusing on enhancing the overall user experience through better visuals, controls, and build quality.
The handheld comes bundled with ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 AR gaming glasses, allowing users to enjoy a virtual large-screen gaming experience.
The glasses can project a massive virtual display while maintaining portability for gaming on the move.
The device features a unique translucent black design with gold accents, created specifically to mark the 20th anniversary of the ROG brand.
Asus has not yet announced official pricing for the bundle, but industry experts expect it to be positioned in the premium gaming segment.
With its OLED screen, upgraded controls, and exclusive anniversary design, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 represents Asus’ latest effort to strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing handheld gaming market.
