Oppo’s rumoured Find X10 Ultra smartphone may no longer be part of the company’s upcoming flagship lineup. According to a report citing well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Oppo has put its Ultra smartphone project on hold. The company has not officially confirmed the reported decision or provided a reason for the change.
The Find X10 Ultra was previously expected to launch in the first half of next year as a camera-focused flagship. Its cancellation would leave the recently introduced Oppo Find X10 Pro Max as the brand’s highest-end model in the current generation, at least for now.
Rising Memory Prices Could Affect Ultra Flagship Plans
Although no official explanation has been provided, rising memory component prices are being discussed as a possible factor behind the reported decision. A premium smartphone with advanced camera hardware and high-end components could become significantly more expensive to manufacture as component costs increase.
The Find X10 Ultra was expected to target the premium smartphone segment, where expensive camera systems and powerful processors already contribute to higher production costs. However, the connection between memory prices and the project’s reported suspension remains speculation.
Leaked Camera Specifications Suggested Major Upgrades
Earlier rumours had pointed to an ambitious camera setup for the Find X10 Ultra. The device was reportedly being developed with a 200MP LOFIC primary camera, alongside two periscope telephoto cameras. One of the telephoto sensors was expected to support up to 10x optical zoom.
Reports also mentioned a square-shaped 100MP front-facing camera. In addition, Oppo was said to be testing versions powered by both MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset, although the Snapdragon variant was considered more likely.
None of these specifications has been officially confirmed by Oppo.
Xiaomi’s Ultra Project Also Faces Uncertainty
The reported development follows claims that Xiaomi’s upcoming Xiaomi 18 Ultra has also been cancelled. Digital Chat Station reportedly suggested that the device could have used Xiaomi’s self-developed Xring O3 processor.
If Oppo’s reported decision is accurate, the Find X10 Pro Max will remain the company’s top flagship in this generation. For now, buyers should treat the Find X10 Ultra’s cancellation and its rumoured specifications as unconfirmed information until Oppo makes an official announcement
