vivo V80 Goes Global: 144Hz AMOLED Display, 7,200mAh Battery and 50MP Cameras

Vivo has announced the global expansion of its Vivo V80 smartphone, following its launch in India last week. The company said the device will reach markets across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other regions. However, pricing, availability and specifications may vary depending on local market conditions and consumer preferences.

The Vivo V80 combines a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, a large battery, a Snapdragon processor and multiple 50MP cameras. The smartphone is aimed at users looking for premium display quality, photography features and long battery life.

Vivo V80 Display and Design

The Vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1260 × 2750 pixels. The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming, while its claimed peak brightness of 5,000 nits is designed to improve visibility in bright conditions.

For global markets, the smartphone will be available in four colour options: Starwish Purple, Wander Green, Sunrise Anthem and Vast Gray.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Processor and Storage

The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and comes with 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.

The 128GB variant uses UFS 3.1 storage, while the 256GB and 512GB models feature the faster UFS 4.1 standard. These configurations are designed to support everyday multitasking, app usage and gaming.

50MP Cameras for Photography

The Vivo V80 features a triple rear camera system consisting of a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

On the front, the smartphone includes a 50MP selfie camera for self-portraits and video calls. The combination of the main and telephoto cameras is designed to offer greater flexibility when capturing different types of photographs.

7,200mAh Battery and Software Support

The Vivo V80 packs a 7,200mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging. The large battery capacity could appeal to users who prioritise extended usage between charges.

The smartphone runs Android 17 with Vivo’s OriginOS 7 interface. Vivo has also promised four major Android updates and six years of security updates, offering long-term software support.

With its global rollout, the Vivo V80 brings together a high-refresh-rate display, versatile cameras and a large battery. Its final appeal in individual markets will depend on local pricing, availability and the specifications offered in each region.
