Galaxy Unpacked 2026: Samsung Unveils Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 With Smarter AI Health Features

Samsung has officially expanded its wearable lineup by introducing the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 during the Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 event in London. The new smartwatches focus on combining advanced artificial intelligence, improved health monitoring, and enhanced durability to deliver a more personalized fitness and wellness experience. Designed for different lifestyles, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 targets outdoor enthusiasts and athletes, while the Galaxy Watch9 is built for everyday health tracking and all-day comfort.

The flagship Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is Samsung’s most advanced smartwatch yet. It is the first Galaxy Watch powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform, promising faster performance, smoother navigation, and more accurate GPS tracking. The smartwatch features a large 800mAh battery, offering around 35 percent more capacity than its predecessor, while its display reaches an impressive 5,000 nits of peak brightness for excellent outdoor visibility.

Samsung has also redesigned the Ultra2 with a slimmer profile despite the larger battery. The watch is approximately 12 percent thinner, and its lighter band with a new air-pocket structure provides better comfort during long workouts and outdoor adventures. New software features include Trail Run, which provides real-time elevation, climbing progress, and ascent data, helping runners monitor their performance more effectively. For water sports enthusiasts, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 automatically records diving depth, water temperature, and dive time, supported by 10ATM water resistance, IP69K certification, and advanced diving tools developed in partnership with Mares.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch9 focuses on everyday health management. Available in 40mm and 44mm variants, the smartwatch is powered by the same Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and features a 390mAh battery, delivering improved battery life alongside a thinner, more comfortable design suitable for all-day wear.

Samsung has also upgraded the Samsung Health platform with several AI-powered wellness features. New tools such as Vitals, Heart Health Score, Fitness Index, Daily Cardio Load, and the FDA-authorized Sleep Apnea detection feature provide users with deeper insights into sleep quality, cardiovascular health, exercise performance, recovery, and overall well-being.

With the launch of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, Samsung is strengthening its wearable ecosystem by combining powerful hardware with intelligent AI-driven health features. The new smartwatches aim to provide users with a more complete health companion, whether they are training for extreme adventures or simply managing their daily fitness and wellness routines.
