Vivo S2 Set for Comeback After Seven Years, Live Images Leak Ahead of Expected August Launch

Vivo appears to be reviving its popular S-series smartphone lineup after a long gap, with the Vivo S2 expected to launch in August 2026. Ahead of the official announcement, live images of the upcoming device have surfaced online, offering an early look at its design and hinting at Vivo’s strategy for the competitive mid-range smartphone market.

According to recent leaks, the Vivo S2 could make its debut on August 6, 2026, nearly seven years after the company introduced the Vivo S1. While Vivo has not officially confirmed the launch date or the device itself, multiple reports suggest that the smartphone is already progressing through certification stages, indicating that an official unveiling may not be far away.

The leaked live images reveal a modern yet familiar design. The smartphone is expected to be available in Black and Rose Gold color options. On the rear panel, the Vivo S2 features a horizontally aligned dual-camera setup along with an LED flash. The leaked unit also suggests a clean and minimalistic back design with the Vivo branding positioned toward the bottom.

On the front, the device is shown with a curved-edge display featuring a centrally placed punch-hole camera. The slim bezels and curved screen give the smartphone a premium appearance despite its expected mid-range pricing. Reports also indicate that the phone could use a polycarbonate chassis, balancing durability with affordability.

Another major development is the appearance of the Vivo S2 in the IMEI certification database under model number V2576. While certification listings do not reveal complete specifications, they generally indicate that a product is nearing commercial release. Industry tipsters believe Vivo intends to position the S2 as one of its key smartphones in the under ₹30,000 price segment.

At the moment, Vivo has remained silent regarding the leaks, and official hardware specifications, pricing, and availability are still under wraps. However, the combination of certification listings, leaked images, and launch rumors strongly suggests that the Vivo S series is preparing for a long-awaited comeback.

If the leaks prove accurate, the Vivo S2 could become an important addition to Vivo’s mid-range portfolio, offering a stylish design and modern features while competing with offerings from brands such as OnePlus, Realme, and Nothing in India’s highly competitive smartphone market.
