Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest smartwatch, the Xiaomi Watch S5, aiming to offer a premium wearable experience without entering the ultra-expensive smartwatch category.
Positioned between Xiaomi’s fitness bands and its flagship WearOS-powered watches, the new device focuses on battery life, display quality, and everyday health tracking.
The Xiaomi Watch S5 features a 1.48-inch AMOLED display capable of reaching up to 2,500 nits of peak brightness, making it easier to view notifications and fitness data even under direct sunlight.
The smartwatch adopts a premium design with a stainless-steel body and bezel, giving it a more refined appearance compared to many mid-range smartwatches currently available in the market.
One of the biggest highlights is its massive 815mAh battery. Xiaomi claims the Watch S5 can last up to 21 days on a single charge under light usage conditions, a figure that significantly exceeds the battery life offered by many competing smartwatches.
Even with regular use, the company says users can expect around two weeks of battery performance.
The smartwatch runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 platform and includes support for more than 150 sports modes
Health-focused features include heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, sleep analysis, and advanced fitness metrics. Xiaomi has also introduced dual-band GNSS support for more accurate outdoor activity tracking, making the device suitable for runners, cyclists, and fitness enthusiasts.
The Watch S5 is available in several color options, including the eye-catching Jungle Green variant that combines a nylon-braided and fluororubber strap.
Additional smart features include voice calling through a built-in microphone and speaker, smart home controls, remote camera functions, and device connectivity within Xiaomi’s ecosystem. However, some international models may not include NFC or cellular connectivity.
With its premium build quality, long-lasting battery, bright display, and extensive fitness capabilities, the Xiaomi Watch S5 appears to be Xiaomi’s strongest attempt yet to challenge established smartwatch brands while maintaining a competitive price point.
